The Northeast has the highest prom costs in the country.  Yet, many girls wear their prom dress once and then it sits in their closet.

In 2012, Zoe Gillies got a group together and started this project because she said, "Prom may seem like a small moment in time to some, but to a high school girl, it's an important milestone that should be accessible to everyone." Since then, Cape Closet has collected over 800 dresses. Want a free dress for prom? Contact us! You'll actually be helping the planet by giving a dress a second life!

Some of the dresses we receive are outdated, but we think they have beautiful potential to become one of a kind designer dresses!  If you are interested in volunteering to redesign dresses, contact us!  We would love to work with you!  No experience necessary!

Repurposing prom dresses is good for the planet.
